Weaving from the lianas
November 2018 - January 2019 I have stayed 2,5 months in Kilombo Tenonde, Bahia, Brasil, an independent cultural center focusing on permaculture and capoeira angola. I was working on adopting my woven projects to the nature of the land. I have experimented various local plants, including lianas from the forest and giant bamboo.
I have created 6 cylindrical nests and hanged them on the trees. The bamboo form is located just over the surface of the river Piau. I managed to create 2 prototypes of roofed hanging nests. Protected from rain, you can live in them all the year long in the warm climate.
This creative travell was possible thanks to support from the Adam Mickiewicz Institute.
